Helles Fire Club yeast strain is a reliable and consistent choice for brewing traditional Munich-style lagers. It produces a clean, bright beer with minimal off-flavours and a well-balanced aroma. With a high flocculation rate, it's easy to crop and re-pitch into the next batch. It also produces lower levels of diacetyl and sulphur, reducing conditioning time and allowing for higher fermentation temperatures.

    Product Description

This yeast strain is specially cultivated to give the resulting beer a crisp, clean finish with a slightly sweet aftertaste. The aroma is subtle and well-balanced, with hints of malt and a very light touch of fruitiness.

It is perfect for creating traditional Munich-style lagers with a well-balanced taste and aroma. Helles Fire Club yeast strain can be used to make most lager styles. A WHC Lab favourite, this lager yeast is known for its reliability and consistency in the brewing process, making it an excellent choice for a house lager yeast. This yeast strain ferments efficiently and produces a clean, bright beer with minimal off-flavours.

With its high flocculation rate (a rarity in lager strains), Helles Fire Club makes it very easy to crop and re-pitch into the next batch. This strain produces lower levels of diacetyl and sulphur, which can lower the conditioning time, and the strain can be used at higher fermentation temperatures during fermentation to produce cold IPA or quick-turnaround lager.

    Strain: Saccharomyces pastorianus

Helles Fire Club is a 10hl pitchable yeast with the cell count needed to be pitched into 1000L of wort with a gravity of less than 1.060. For higher gravity beers, two or three pouches may be needed. Please email sales@whclab.com if you need any help with calculating the amount of yeast needed.

I produce a czech style lager and I love this yeast for that flavour profile. It's not as attenuative as other lager strains leaving a touch of sweetness which is great for the style, the sulphur production is minimal in comparison to other yeasts so it cleans up very quickly and I simply love the flavour it produces.

My only complaint is this pitch will not do a 10HL batch at at 1.042 OG. When I was brewing at 10HL fermentation times were very sluggish almost a month in certain cases, so I had to drop the batch size to 8.5 HL. Since doing so fermentation is completed in good time 5-7 days.
